To update the catalogs or the library activity logs:

Select Library > Update Library Catalogs

Click the hyperlink to download the catalogs or activity logs.

Note: If you have already updated the catalogs or activity logs, the previous download will be uninstalled to make room for the new version. You will be prompted to download the new version of the catalogs or activity logs.

Confirm the update by clicking OK.

To update the catalogs, select Library > Update Library Catalogs.

Click to download any changes made to the catalogs.

Click the OK button to confirm the update of the catalogs.

To update the activity log, select Library > Update Library Activity Logs.

Click to download any changes made to the activity log.

Click the OK button to confirm the update of the activity log.

Library activity logs will be updated with any changes in the core, bonus, or manufacturer catalogs, such as the addition of new content or updates to existing content. You can view and save your most recent library activity logs by clicking Save Library Activity Logs to File.

Core, bonus, and manufacturer catalogs are updated periodically to include new and improved content. You can update your installed catalogs to include the latest content by selecting Library> Update Library Catalogs at any time. The program will gather information about the content in each of these three categories, and then download and replace any content that is not up to date.

You can tell if you are up to date on the core catalogs by using the Library> Update Library Catalogs menu option. If the items you need are not listed, select the Download Catalogs option in the menu bar to download the missing content.

You can add new, empty catalogs by using the Add Library Catalogs button. This option allows you to copy a catalog from a folder on your computer, or to use a catalog created by another Chief Architect.

Catalog files can be identified by their catalog or folder name, or by their content. If you are importing from a catalog file, you can use the browse button to select the catalog to open or drag the file directly to your Chief Architect.

Some applications, such as Java, require that the application directories and libraries are updated to a newer version before the user can update. However, there are some applications that are not explicitly API-specific, such as the X Window System, the X server source code, are automatically updated as required.
