R is a very powerful open source environment for data analysis, statistics and graphing, with thousands of packages available. After my previous blog post about likert-scales and metadata in R, a few of my colleagues mentioned that they were learning R through a Coursera course on data analysis. I have been working quite intensively with R for the last half year, and thought I'd try to document and share a few tricks, and things I wish I'd have known when I started out.
Do you really think it will improve or is it wishful thinking and an excuse for inaction? If you were confident in improvement, would you really be questioning things so? Generally not. This is fear of the unknown disguised as optimism.
When we had our house built the builder painted the whole inside with flat paint. I had three children 8, 10, and 2. I wish I would have known how hard it is to clean flat paint especially in the kids bathroom and in the kitchen. So, very soon after we moved in we had to paint. Also we had french doors put in, but only once side opened. Next time I would get doors where both sides opened up. This makes it easier when moving furniture also. We put in skylights in the bathroom and living room because of the lack of windows in these two rooms. This is great, the only down fall is when it storms the tv has to be turned up because of the noise the rain makes on the skylight. Also I would put in a gas fireplace in the master bathroom. They come in handy during a power outage, and helps on the electric bill. 2b1af7f3a8
