VISI PEPS-Wire incorporates the industry leading PEPS Wire EDM CAM system, developed specifically for the precision engineering, tool-making, mold & die, press and extrusion tool industries, within the VISI design environment. Fully feature based, VISI PEPS-Wire provides automatic feature recognition of wire features including tapered, variable taper and 4 axis directly from solid geometry. Features are easily machined creating reliable Wire EDM toolpaths and proven CNC code for all Wire EDM machine tools.

Control surface pocket erosion enables the machining of control surfaces without a drop-out part. The programming effort for wire eroding is thus significantly reduced and machining can be carried out unattended.
The PEPS Turning Steel Module calculates the geometry required for wire EDM of profile turning steels depending on the clamping angle, the frontal clearance angle and the lateral clearance angle on the turning steel.
We routinely cut with wire as small as 0.1mm for intricate jobs and we also cut with wire as large as 0.3mm for quicker cuts. We can cut to tolerances of .0025mm with a machined surface finish of 6µm if necessary. All our WireEDM machines are fully CNC with autothreading capable. We have a dedicated Wire EDM programming department who program each job offline using latest Visi software. We also use the latest in clean cut technology on our machines. Clean cut technology enhances cutting times and reduces pollution formation on the component surface. Wire EDM is particularly efficient at cutting very intricate or delicate, thin walled parts which may be prone to warping when being machined using traditional methods. Part Hardness is not of concern as wire EDM is effectively a non-contact machining process which uses a spark to remove material rather than a cutting edge. We can also cut tapered holes up to 40 included angle.

All NC programming is performed using VISI Machining, with two additional workstations running VISI Modelling and VISI Analysis for 3D tool design, model preparation for manufacture and electrode production.
