With the first startup TeamSpeak creates the SQLite database at /var/lib/teamspeak3-server/ts3server.sqlitedb and starts logging its standard output in files in: /var/log/teamspeak3-server/. Teamspeak also creates the first ServerQuery administration account (the superuser) and the first virtual server including a privilege key for the server administrator of this virtual server. The privilege key is only displayed once on standard output.

When booting your system with the ipv6.disable=1 kernel parameter to disable the IPv6 stack, Teamspeak will not be able to start with the default configuration. Edit /etc/teamspeak3-server.ini to change the listening IPs.

update: i don't know why, but when using the host option with teamspeak dockers, i keep getting time outs on the clients. Didn't have this before. From the point i assigned it a dedicated ip, it has been stable for 24 hours now . . .

Everything was right during the installation. The teamspeak.service is running (both systemctl service and the ts3 process "./ts3server inifile=ts3server.ini daemon=1 pid_file=ts3server.pid" are showing as running).

Server is ran by 'teamspeak' user and the folder belongs to him as well. 'ts3server.pid', '.ts3server_license_accepted', 'ts3server' and all other necessary files are present in '/home/teamspeak' folder.

I see, is this because the current version of teamspeak server in the nixpkgs module is 3.10.2 as opposed to the latest version 3.12.1? could I create a more recent version in a local copy of nixpkgs that I include with:

Ihr bekommt dann nach ein paar Minuten wieder eine Email von Triton CI and Associates mit dem Betreff "TeamSpeak 3 Non-Profit License Issued". Im Anhang befindet sich eine Datei mit dem Namen "licensekey.dat". In der Email steht:

andernfalls solltets du mal schauen, ob irgendwo vielleicht doch eine leere datei ist, die license heist. Wenn das alles nicht geht, führe mal eine neuinstallation durch und starten sie den "neuen" ts und schau bitte mal, ob das geht. wEnn das auch nicht geht, solltest du mal TS kontaktieren;) Die werden momentan aber ehere nicht zurückschreiben. We issue approx. one of those licenses per day (that's about 30 per month) but as this is a manual process, we do it in batches every couple of days. You can apply for such a license (if one is available) at our License Page. If you've successfully committed the request, your license will be issued with the next batch. Please make sure to input the correct information as you would have to request a new license otherwise.

We do have a "Donor" group on our forums that you will get automatically if you donate. With this group, the License Page will directly be open to you and you can request a license right away. However, please be aware that your license will not be issued directly but with the next batch (see above).

A license will also be valid for at least a major release (e.g. 2.0 could require a new license compared to 1.0). We currently don't have plans to invalidate any license given out before 1.0 with the release of 1.0.

Once you've received a license you just have to download the private.dat file from the License Page and save/copy it into the same folder the bot is installed in (normally that should be in /opt/sinusbot/).After restarting the SinusBot the new instances will appear automatically.
